Go live
Publish your project
Deploy your project to a live startbase.app URL, watch the pipeline, and update or unpublish at any time.
Publishing turns your project into a live app at a public URL. Click Publish in the workspace toolbar and a short wizard walks you through the address, access, and site info before deploying. The button's status dot tells you at a glance whether the site is live (green), deploying (pulsing), or the last deploy failed (red).
The publish wizard
- Website address: pick your subdomain under startbase.app. Startbase suggests one from your project name; 3 to 63 characters, lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. If a name is taken you'll be asked to pick another.
- Access: choose who can open the site. Public means anyone with the link.
- Website info: set the title (up to 60 characters) and description (up to 160) used for search engines and link previews, with a live preview card.
- Review and deploy: check the summary and hit Publish.
The deploy pipeline runs through Queued, Building, Deploying, and Live, with progress shown in the dialog. Once live, the Published view shows your URL with copy and open buttons, a 30-day traffic chart, and Republish, Edit settings, and Unpublish actions.
How publishing works
Publishing deploys a snapshot of your current project. The published version is independent of your workspace: keep editing freely, and the live site only changes when you republish. While a republish builds, the old version stays live until the new one is ready.
Unpublish and history
- Unpublish takes the site offline at any time; you can republish later, and your address is kept.
- Deploy history lists your recent production deploys with status, build duration, and links.
