Accept payments with Stripe: one-click Stripe Connect or bring your own keys.
The Payments section connects your app to Stripe so it can charge customers. All transactions run on your own Stripe account; Startbase never holds your money. There are two paths: Stripe Connect (recommended) and a manual setup with your own API keys.
Stripe Connect (recommended)
- Click Connect with Stripe. Stripe's onboarding opens in a new tab.
- Complete onboarding (business details, bank account). You can resume later if you leave midway.
- Back in Startbase, the status chip flips to "Ready · Stripe connected" once charges are enabled.
Manual setup with your own keys
Prefer to wire Stripe yourself? The section walks you through three steps and auto-detects completion:
- Save your STRIPE_SECRET_KEY in Secrets.
- Ask the agent to scaffold checkout and billing (suggestion chips like "Add checkout page" do this for you).
- Register a Stripe webhook and save the STRIPE_WEBHOOK_SECRET.
Stripe keys only ever reach your edge functions, never client-side app code.
